Just got a Amstrad 1 TB Sky + HD box, upgraded from Samsung 160GB original Sky + HD box. Cant speak highly enough of the box and the recording space. Taping an HD movie on my old Sky + HD 160GB box really dug into the box memory percentage, now one movie barely touches it. For example I recorded There Will Be Blood from Sky Movies on my old 160GB box and it used up 10% of the memory. I recorded it again on my new 1 TB box and it only used 2% of memory. Programmes like Lost on Sky One HD used to take up 4 % on my old box now one episode doesnt even move the percentage down. Also according to Sky the box is future proofed being ready for 3-D and Video on demand coming in 2010 apparantly. In terms of looks the box is totally different to the standard HD box. The box is all black with silver side panels and the remote control face is dark grey instead of silver. In terms of dimensions the box is smaller in everyway than the old HD box. Would defiantly recommend to anyone who wants to record alot of television especially HD television. Menus exactly the same as standard HD box by the way. If you are thinking of upgrading from standard Sky + to HD defiantly go for the 1 TB box but if you already have Sky + HD and dont have any problems with memory capacity with the standard HD box youre probably just aswell to remain with what youve got. Hope this helps.
