Virgin Broadband is pretty amazing, it give you speeds of up to 20mb which is about 10 times faster than the first Sky broadband. Also because it uses fibre optic cables is it more reliable and the speed doesn’t decrease as more people in your street use it. Unlike broadband providers who use standard telephone lines, like Talk Talk, Tiscali, Orange, O2, etc. They all use very old technology, in fact the copper wire telephone lines they use were invested in the 1870′S over 130 years ago! Also unlike copper wire the fibre optic cables that Virgin Media use dont slow down, no matter how far from a telephone exchange you are. With copper wire the speed dramatically slows if you are more than 3 miles from a central telephone exchange. Also with fibre optic cables you dont have to pay BT for a telephone line, none is needed. Only one company uses fibre optics and that is Virgin Media.
