While perhaps not commonly known, H Samuel (www.hsamuel.co.uk) has been around since 1862, having been a mail order business prior to opening their first shop on 1890. That said the H Samuel of today is a very different animal to that which began to evolve back in the 1800s. I have brough both my watches from Hsamuel. They do a really good selection of watches, and the have some good brands at good prices. H samual staff are pretty good, but could be more helpful. The watches have lasted my 13 years and 6 years so are pretty happy so far with h samuels the jewellers.

Average Customer Review::My daughter bought a butterfly necklace and ear rings at the H.Samuels in Berwick upon Tweed. When she checked them after getting them home the back of one of the ear rings was broken. She took them back today and was offered a smaller back as there were no more in the store to match the original one. The attitude of one of the staff was not what one would expect from a sales assistant trained by your company. The younger assistant was very helpful but this one seemed to be having a bad day as she practically accused my daughter of breaking it which was not the case as we had to travel quite a distance to return the goods. When you buy ear rings I would expect matching backs as they are visible and its not as if they were cheap as it was a present for my grandaughter for passing her exams. The manager was not in the shop as she had popped out to buy a paper. I used to buy a lot of my ear rings in there but it has put me off due to her attitude.
I bought 3 watches i.e. fashion watches to complement various outfits. I found the shop selection perfect and the fact that there was offer of buy one get one half price was totally unmissable. Thank you H.Samuel I am delighted with my purchases.

Average Customer Review::Purchased many items of jewellery and several watches at Chesterfield (Derbys )over the past few years, my wife is registered blind and we have problems fastening clasps on necklaces etc-NO PROBLEMS=Andy Lee or Marie change the clasps, nothing is any trouble to them, always very polite, and we wait if need be / or call back. I would not go anywhere else other than H. Samuels.
