Sky.com Review

Average Customer Review:: ★★★½☆

There are very few companies in the history of British business which can boast as much influence as Sky (www.sky.com), a company who changed the face of both traditional TV and Satellite TV forever. They used the lure of the sports channels to build up their client base, paying hundreds of millions of pounds for the rights to the UK Football Premier League – a move which was mocked by many but has been shown to be a master stroke. As the client base grew so did the number of channels on offer as well as the additional services available. Now very much installed in the telecom, broadband and online content markets they have become too strong for many in the industry – something which has seen their acquisition of a stake in ITV investigated by the authorities. Never afraid to push the limits, Sky have proved many of their doubters wrong and continue to be the leading name in satellite TV.

    I have the full Sky package, sports movies the lot and while it cost me a few quid a month it saves me a fortune from going out. I get all the premiership games, England and the darts as well! I am thinking of taking out the broadband and telephone package as well because I don’t think it gets any better than Sky. My mate at work has that Sky plus and he says its great. He reckons that you can set the box to tape a whole series and remember when each episode is on. Is that right? If so im having some of that

    I used to have Sky but i binned it after they started trying to charge me for live football games even though i already had Skysports. Sometimes I wish i had kept it because BBC and ITV are rubbish compared to the channels i used to have. Will these digital Tvs give us some more channels? My mates have sky and rave about it, exspecially HD, so i think i will take it on again.

    While the service is great the cost just seems to be edging higher all of the time but the kids love the cartoons and i have nt got much choice. I wish that i did nt have to buy all of the other channels with the cartoons but i suppose thats how they make their money.

    have been a sky customer for 3 yrs now, and during that time I have found the on site engineer service (when required) to be efficient and prompt. The “Off Shore”customer help lines however leave a lot to be desired. Recently I decided that it would be useful to look into the possibility of adding SKY PLUS, due to the fact that my area is one of the first to be going digital. I was amazed to discover that SKY will charge me £30 more (AS AN EXISTING CUSTOMER), than it would for a new customer. A letter to their Chief. Executive was passed to the customer liaison dept. which generated a totally ungrammatical letter which was patronising in the extreme,but still did not address the main issue. I am now asking myself if I want to remain with them.I would sum up by saying that SKY is great when they are “getting you in “, but once they have got you they treat you with contempt. CONGRATULATIONS SKY,AN OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER RELATIONS EXERCISE
