50MB broadband is here, 9 Times Faster than Normal Broadband - Virginmedia.com

Virgin Media has recently launched a brand new, super fast broadband service which is nine times faster than normal broadband. The new service Virginmedia.com/50 is a 50Mb broadband service. This is amazing when you consider the standard Sky.com broadband is only 2mb, this means that the Virginmedia service is 25 times faster than the standard Sky.com broadband service. As the press release from Virgin says “This service will transform the way people interact and entertain themselves online and will provide a broadband experience that is truly world class.”

The internet is not longer a simple information medium is a full multi-media platform which is used to download videos, music, watch live TV, etc. All of which require a superfast connection to stream smoothly. The 50Mb service that Virgin provide is so fast that it would only take 11 seconds to download a completel music album, and a full length movie in only 3.5 minutes. Even though this service is head and shoulders above the other broadband services it is not expensive. If you take the service with a telephone service it will only cost £35 per month!! To start with the service will be available in Scotland, the Midlands and South London. So millions of people will have access to this service by the end of 2008.
